Where: Japan (39.0° N, 141.5° E: paleocoordinates 21.9° N, 112.5° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Monodiexodina kofuganensis foram zone, Unit 1 Member (Hoso-o Formation), Roadian (272.3 - 268.8 Ma)
• Flick & Shiino (2021 txt. f. 2) give it as Wordian, but this is likely incorrect. KF212 is in the lowest KN1 member of the Kanokura Formation, assigned to the Monodiexodina kofuganensis zone. Based on the presence of Chusenella and Cancellina, the zone is likely no younger than Roadian. PJW: Note: KF212 is called a locality, but it appears to be a section rather than a single bed or group of beds. This collection apparently is from lower in the section in the Roadian beds. Also, "Kanokura" is now a series name and rocks formerly assigned to it now are assigned to multiple formations.
