Where: Nevada (38.4° N, 115.0° W: paleocoordinates 6.6° S, 83.0° W)

When: Shingle Limestone Formation (Pogonip Group), Arenigian (478.6 - 468.1 Ma)

• probably trilobite zone J (uppermost Ibexian) or brachiopod zone L (Orthidiella) of Lower Whiterockian age

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: intrashelf or intraplatform reef; lithified limestone

• margin of an intra-shelf basin in only 10 to 20 m of water
• abundant sponge/algal reef mounds, 2 to 7 m across and 1 to 4 m high
