• The authors placed the Hughes Creek Shale in the Permian, but more recent data indicates that it is late Carboniferous. The Noginskian Stage is recognized as equivalent to the Virgilian Stage. Strat section given in Mudge and Burton, 1959, section 42, p. 170;
