Where: New South Wales, Australia (34.9° S, 150.6° E: paleocoordinates 70.3° S, 159.0° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Nowra Formation, Wordian (266.9 - 264.3 Ma)
• Assigned to the Echinalosia robusta/hanloni brachiopod zone and lower APP4.2 palynomorph zone by Briggs (1998). Laurie et al., (2016) inferred an age of 266.8 Ma for the base of APP4.2 on the basis of radiometric constraints, which places it coincident with the base of the Wordian (266.9 Ma in West Texas; Wu et al., 2020).
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified sandstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: mold/impression
Collection methods: Repository: Mining and Geological Museum, Sydney
