When: Talynzhan Formation, Bathonian to Bathonian (168.3 - 157.3 Ma)
• According to Rozanov et al. (2005), the lower part of the Talynzhan suite contains an ammonite fauna including Umaltites era, Cobbanites, and Partschiceras subobtusiforme, which was often given an early Callovian age. However, revision of the endemic Boreal ammonites of Siberia suggests that the Umaltites era beds are actually upper Bajocian in age (Meledina, 2014). Rozanov et al. give an early Callovian to middle Oxfordian range for the Talynzhan suite, although Markevich & Bugdaeva (2008) assign it to the Upper Jurassic and place the Jurassic-Cretaceous boundary at the top.
