• The excavation and documentation of the Kupferschiefer described here is based on an earlier unpublished prospective excavation first done in March 2004, with another following in July 2005; just one month in total was excavated. The data collected and the total excavation material is the property of the Kultur-und Verkehrsverein Hasbergen e.V. and is newly stored and partly accessible in the Geozentrum Hasbergen in a part of the old Hotel Gasthof Schierke. Part of the material is prepared and on open display in the Permisches Blaue Ozean Besucherzentrum (“Permian Blue Ocean Visitor Center”) of that hotel, and is combined with the (Geopark) Hüggel-Geotrail.
