• Overlying the Puca Group represented by tectonically deformed Cretaceous and Paleogene layers.

•This collection had Puca group assigned, but this group has a late age of Paleocene. The Lacayani fauna comes from rocks overlying the Puca group.

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; red claystone and brown, yellow, conglomeratic sandstone

• reddish clays (fossiliferous sediments), alternating muds, brown-yellow sands and conglomerates (made up of metasedimentary, sandstone, Cretaceous volcanic clasts)
