• The age of this unit was confirmed as Lujanense Mammal Age (late Pleistocene) by the presence of Stegomastodon platensis (Ameghino).

Environment/lithology: fluvial; lithified, medium-grained, coarse, brown, red, yellow, sandy lithology not reported

• The sediments that comprise this unit were deposited in a fluvial environment, during the last interglacial.
• Lithology: This consists of medium and coarse sand, reddish and yellow ocher, in which are interspersed lenses of boulders and pebbles of chalcedony and opal, which are very common in the large petrified logs.

Preservation: permineralized, original carbon
