Where: Colombia (3.3° N, 75.2° W: paleocoordinates 2.7° N, 72.6° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Baraya Member (Villavieja Formation), Laventan (13.8 - 11.0 Ma)
• Note: This collection had a Friasian age but this must be the Friasian sensu lato, that includes the Friasian sensu stricto, Mayoan and Laventan. The lower Villavieja formation (Baraya member) is considered of Laventan age now and the upper Villavieja formation is considered Laventan-Mayoan in age (Flynn et al., 1997).
•
•The Honda Group is constrained by radiometric and paleomagnetic evidence to between approximately 13.5 Ma–11.8 Ma (Flynn et al., 1996; Guerrero, 1996; Madden et al., 1996).
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: fluvial; gray, green mudstone and gray, green sandstone
Size class: macrofossils
