• Probably Quaternary representatives of modern species (Gasparini et al. 2021), rather than late Miocene species, as originally proposed by Frailey and Campbell (2012), who had previously written:

•Basal conglomerates of the Iça Formation (=Acre Conglomerate Member of the Madre de Dios Formation in Peru), western Amazon Basin. The conglomerate is separated from the underlying Solimoes Formation (=Contamana Group, in part, in Peru) by the Ucayali Unconformity of Kummel (1948) (Campbell et al., 2006, 2010). The basal conglomerates of the Iça Formation are stratigraphically below an ash horizon in that formation located in Peru ~250 km to the southeast that has been 40A/39Ar dated to 9.01±0.28 (Campbell et al., 2001) The age of the fossils from the conglomerate is, therefore, presumed to be late Miocene, or Chasicoan/Huayquerian SALMA.
