• One large moveable finger (L. setosa); one left manus, fingers and wrist of a small specimen (H. nudus); 8 movable and 2 immovable fingers (M. anthonyi); 3 movable fingers (R. jordani); 4 movable and 5 immovable fingers, 2 movable and 1 immovable finger (M. gracilis); one fixed finger (P. xantusii); 13 arms, 1 immovable finger (R. ornata); 1 small dactylus of right cheliped (H. lineatus); a left, and extremity of a right, movable finger, much worn and a right immovable finger (N. gigas); two movable fingers, one right, one left, three immovable fingers, one right, two left- one of the latter is taken as holotype. Twelve other smaller immovable fingers, four right, eight left, were collected at the same place by Mrs. Stephens (C. stephensi);

• H. lineatus finger is distinguished at once from others found at the same locality by the longitudinal, finely milled, stridulating ridge on the inner surface, a little below the upper edge and running the whole length of the finger except on the horny tip.
