When: Gaiman Formation, Aquitanian (23.0 - 20.4 Ma)

• JA: marine fossils are from a single "marine bed" in an unnamed member of the Gaiman Formation that is Aquitanian and overlies the Trelew Member, which includes Colhuehuapian terrestrial vertebrates (Kay et al. 2008)

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marginal marine; lithified, tuffaceous, muddy sandstone

• JA: presumably nearshore marine based on immediately overlying fully terrestrial unit with a conformable contact
• JA: shown in a column by Kay et al. (2008) as being from a tuffaceous muddy sandstone that does not include concretions and is presumably lithified
