• "Directly above the coal is a 7-ft. bed of shale with 6-in. lenses of clay-ironstone, and above that again about 20 ft. of white sandstone that underlies 9 in. shale and a 3 ft. 6 in. coal seam (including bands)." Tracks at contact between coal and shale.
