Environment/lithology: delta plain; lithified, argillaceous, carbonaceous sandstone and lithified, black, argillaceous shale

• The Raya Formation is interpreted to have been deposited in delta plain-shallow marine-estuarine environments and consists of organic-rich massive to thin-bedded sandstones intercalated with black shales (Kummel, 1948).
