Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, concretionary, gray, carbonaceous shale

• Dark-grey weathering blue-black, in places it is intensely bituminous; it weathers into paperlike lamellae. The nodules consist of black, splintery, bituminous limestone weathering light-grey.

Preservation: concretion
