• Dolomia di Forni is late Alaunian-early Sevatian, but most of the exceptional fossils (such as decapods) come from the lower member.

Environment/lithology: lagoonal or restricted shallow subtidal; lithified, black, carbonaceous dolomite

• It represents deposition in an anoxic marine basin whose maximum depth was about 400 m, and was surrounded by the shallow water carbonate platform of the Dolomia Principale Formation
