Where: Greenland (82.3° N, 23.9° W: paleocoordinates 82.2° N, 22.8° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Kap København Formation, Gelasian (2.6 - 1.8 Ma)
• Kap København Formation and the Fishcreekian are considered to be correlative and slightly younger than the Cibicides grossa zone (c. 2.5 Ma), approximately c. 2.4 Ma at the Praetiglian/Tiglian bundary. Age estimate based on foraminifer fauna pointing to Plio-Pleistocene age, reversed paleomagnetism in fine-grained part of the sequence supporting correlation with Matuyama Chron and amino acid racemization of bivalve shells.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: offshore; poorly lithified siliciclastic sediments
Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
Collection methods: Repository: Zoological Museum, University of Copenhagen
