Where: France (44.5° N, 1.8° E: paleocoordinates 43.0° N, 1.9° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Priabonian (38.0 - 33.9 Ma)
• Mémerlin main filling dated to MP17a or MP18, or early Priabonian. Prajoux (and Cuzal) filling dated to MP13 or MP14, or Lutetian. Nearly all classic vertebrate fossils come from Mémerlin (only one from Prajoux; Astruc et al., 2000), so it seems plausible that this location was the main site of 19th century collecting. An older, middle Eocene age cannot be ruled out.
