Environment/lithology: lacustrine; sandstone and mudstone

• The lacustrine sediments are thinly bedded and well laminated fine sands, silts and muds consisting predominantly of quartz and kaolinite. Organic rich beds and laminae containing coal, peaty sediments, or more sparse macerated plant debris are characteristic of the sediments.
