Where: St. Genevieve County, Missouri (37.9° N, 90.3° W: paleocoordinates 24.3° S, 66.8° W)

When: Plectodina tenuis conodont zone, Barnhart Formation, Chatfieldian (453.8 - 451.0 Ma)

• Cooper (1956 p. 116): Although the lower shaly part of this formation was correlated with the Spechts Ferry member of the Decorah formation by Kay (1935, p. 288), the fossils collected by the writer from the lower and upper parts indicate equivalence with the Guttenberg member of the Decorah formation rather than the Spechts Ferry." Note that this often is called Decorah, and now is called Kings Lake (either a member of the Decorah or its own formation). Overlies Plattin group & underlies Kimmswick. Conodont zone from Kolata et al. 1996.
