Where: Nunavut, Canada (81.1° N, 84.1° W: paleocoordinates 28.2° N, 0.9° E)
• coordinate stated in text
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Nansen Formation, Kasimovian (307.0 - 303.7 Ma)
• Nassichuk (1969) indicated that the locality occurs in a massive skeletal limestone, 400 feet above the base of the Hare Fiord Formation, but recent investigation has shown that a major fault occurs in the section so the thickness is unknown. At this locality, the Hare Fiord Formation interfingers with the Nansen Formation; all strata have been incorporated in the Nansen Formation.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: lithified limestone

Collected by W.W. Nassichuk, G.R. Davies in 1972; reposited in the GSC
