Where: Nevada (36.2° N, 115.0° W: paleocoordinates 2.3° N, 44.5° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Callville Formation, Yeadonian (318.1 - 314.6 Ma)
• Basal meter of the Callville Formation. Cancelloceras characterizes the upper portion of the Bilinguites-Cancelloceras Ammonoid Biozone (Nm2C2) of Ruzhencev and Bogoslovskaya (1978), which can be correlated with the highest portion of the Hale Formation (early Morrowan) in the southern midcontinent, United States (Manger and Saunders, 1980). In western Europe, Cancelloceras is essentially restricted to the Yeadonian Stage (G,), Namurian Series.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
