• According to modern stratigraphy (Werneburg & Schneider, 2006), the site [...] is part of the upper Millery Formation (Autunian, Rotliegend, Cisuralian), which was recently dated to the Artinskian (formerly Sakmarian, see Schneider et al., 2014). (Spindler, 2015)

Environment/lithology: lacustrine; gray shale

• The dark grayish bituminous shale was deposited in a lacustrine environment (Marteau & Feys, 1989).
