When: MN10 mammal zone, Nea Messimvria Formation, Late/Upper Miocene (11.6 - 5.3 Ma)
• Based on Sen et al. (2000) and de Bonis et al. (1988)
Environment/lithology: fluvial; lithified, red, sandy, conglomeratic sandstone
• red-beds, rich in sand and gravels, which are very hard (de Bonis et al., 1988:144)
