• These strata are considered to be of early Callovian (gracilis Zone) age, as defined by Thierry et al. (1997), and rest unconformably on blue-grey limestones of late Bathonian date

Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, ferruginous, ooidal limestone

• Limestones containing abundant iron ooids.
