• Station 8 of Alexander (1934) includes two collections. The one recorded here ("8a") is upper Kincaid (Tehuacana Limestone Mbr) below the Vernericardia bulla bed; "8b" is basal Wills Point Fm. and is entered as a separate collection.

Environment/lithology: marginal marine; poorly lithified claystone

• The dark, fossiliferous, glauconitic clay at the base of the bank is rich in Cucullea macrodonta Whitfield and lies near the top of the Kincaid formation and about 25 feet below the strata exposed at station 8. Foraminifera and ostracodes are numerous, and this has been selected as the type locality for Brachycythere plena n. sp., B. interrasilis n. sp., Cythereis midwayensis n. sp. and Cytheromorpha scrobiculata n. sp.

• Fossiliferous strata below the true Vernericardia bulla bed lie at the top of the Kincaid formation and carry numer- ous foraminifera and ostracodes
