Environment/lithology: grainstone and mudstone
• The incomplete Upper limestone in southern Labrador is host to a basal bios-trome complex of archeocyathids, skeletal grainstone, bedded mudstone, and dolostone. (James and Kobluk, 1987; Hughes, 1979).Upward, the complex interbeds with or is locally sharply overlain by oolitic limestone; microbial boundstone also occurs.
