Environment/lithology: marine; shelly/skeletal reef rocks

• In the reef limestone the comm. is associated with biomorphic (=biogenic) and fine, detrital rocks characteristic of quiet conditions behind the reef massif. A BA 3 position is suggested.
• "Occurs only in massive reef limestone. Separate elements, however, may also be observed in reef associated, level bottom, bedded detrital limestone."
