• Probably Late Llandoverian or Early Wenlockian. Lowermost part of Semenov Regional Stage, underlying Jolvia multiplexa community.

Environment/lithology: marine; ferruginous limestone

• Lithology and morphology of shells (pedicle; heavy ventral valves) suggest level bottom conditions, whereas ration of articulated to disarticulated shells suggests quiet water. BA 3. Elsewhere related Pentameridae and Trimerella commonly found in rough water.
