Environment/lithology: fluvial; lithified mudstone and lithified, conglomeratic sandstone

• Chinle is 1200ft think in Zuni Mts. Monitor Butte and Petrified Forest members are middle two members. Lower Petrified Forest (Sonsela Sandstone Bed) and upper Monitor Butte (Ciniza Lake Beds) are the most fossiliferous. Strata formed from northwest flowing streams from Mogollon highlands.
