Where: Québec, Canada (48.5° N, 64.2° W: paleocoordinates 24.0° S, 39.2° W)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Cote de la Surprise Member (White Head Formation), Gamachian (449.5 - 443.7 Ma)
• "Unit" 5, presumably "unit" 6; "division" 5?. Lesperance (1988) notes that some of the key species here are found in the Cote de la Surprise member only.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: offshore; gray mudstone and brown limestone
Size class: macrofossils
Collection methods: Destroyed brachiopod fragments in collection; undescribed. Fossils collected in 1964 by a field assistant and are "presumably from division 5, but they could conceivably originate from the unexposed portions between divisions 4 and 5. The extensive 1964 collections, following equally extensive 1963 collections lost in a fire were of sufficient volume to have drastically altered the exposed section."
