Environment/lithology: marine; gray, argillaceous limestone and marl

• "Most of the shells of nominative species articulated. Shells characteristically unsorted and lack evidence of transportation. Typical quiet water, level bottom, firm to soft substrate, BA 3 unit."

• "Occurs in gray-brown, thin-bedded, argillaceous limestones interbedded with marls and aleurolites." [Not clear from description whether fossils also found in the marls and siltstones.]
