Platy Dolomite Ca3 Tumlin-Podgrodzie IG1 borehole Kielce (Permian to of Poland)

Where: Poland (50.8° N, 20.7° E: paleocoordinates 17.7° N, 28.9° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Platy Dolomite Formation (Strassfort Group), Wuchiapingian to Wuchiapingian (259.9 - 252.2 Ma)

• The following lithological complexes are currently distinguished within the Zechstein on the so-called "near" Permian-Mesozoic edge of the Holy Cross Paleozoic core: Zechstein Limestone (Ca1) locally underlaying by the Copper-Bearing Shale (in German Kupfer schiefer; T1), Lower Anhydrite (Ald) in some sections, Terrigenious Series (T1r) and Upper Anhydrite (A1g) which all form the Werra Cycle (PZ1); the Strassfort Cycle (PZ2) is developed as the Terrigenous Series (T2r), the Grey Pelite (T3), Platy Dolomite (Ca3) and only locally Main Anhydrite (A3) represents the Leine Cycle (PZ3). The uppermost Zechstein deposits consist of the Top Terrigenous Series (Pzt).

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: peritidal; dolomite and limestone

• in text: it occurs there in the form of the algal limestones with a mixture of bioclasts. In the northern subregion deposits are thicker (up to 10 m) and bipartate: algal bioloites at the bottom are overlain by the alternating micrite and marl layers.

•in log: dolomites and laminated limestones

Size class: microfossils

Preservation: original sporopollenin

Collection methods: core, chemical, mechanical,
