Where: Kerman, Iran (31.0° N, 56.6° E: paleocoordinates 9.8° S, 42.4° E)

When: Shemshak Formation, Hettangian to Hettangian (201.3 - 182.7 Ma)

• "upper part" of formation. Tracks occur at two levels within this section of the formation.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; medium-grained, coarse, gray sandstone and fine-grained, gray sandstone

• "continental...sandy beaches". Setting described as a "subsiding paralic basin"
• lower horizon: "alternating shale and siltstone, overlain by 6-8 m of sandstone...This sandstone is gey to dark grey, fine grained, and quartzitic."

•lower horizon: "85-100 m of grey to white grey, medium to coarse grained quartzitic sandstone."
