When: Alfambra Formation, Turolian (8.7 - 5.3 Ma)

• Late Miocene, MN11, Early Turolian.

Environment/lithology: gray marl

• The basal 10m of the section, belonging to the Peral Formation, consists of 7m of red conglomerates and sands, 2.2.m of yellow conglomerates and 0.8m of white to yellow sand. The Alfambra formation follows with 0.4m soft grey limestone with some lenses of grey-black marl (the Alfambra mammal locality). This is overlain by white limestones.
