Awaynat Wanin type sect.,Tahara Fmn., sample TB903 (Devonian of Libya)

Where: Libya (28.1° N, 13.0° E: paleocoordinates 38.6° S, 20.4° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Tahara Formation, Late/Upper Famennian (364.7 - 360.7 Ma)

• Assemblage interpreted as late Famennian.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; ferruginous sandstone and siltstone

• random shell orientation; fragmentation; disarticulation; dominance by coarsely costate rhynchonellids, weakly concavo-convex productids, and some inarticulates; interpreted as shallow marine, near coast, BA2.
• Formation as a whole: "alternation of sandstones, siltstones, and shales". This sample: "fossils occur in a ferruginous sandstone and are evidently replaced"
