• Formation rests unconformably on Lower Silurian rocks. Dated as Late Frasnian on basis of tentaculites.

Environment/lithology: marine; siltstone and sandstone

Collection methods: Emphasis of monograph is brachiopods and bivalves. Other elements sometimes mentioned as well. I am combining elements that are said to belong to two distinct assemblages (there is also a "mixed" assemblage). It is not clear to what extent the assemblages are stratigraphically distinct.
