Environment/lithology: "channel"; fine-grained sandstone and green, calcareous mudstone

• low-lying drainage basin with lake beds and small streams; "an ephemeral fluvial system"
• "sandstone...interbedded with green mudstone. The upper layers often exhibit low-angle ripple marks and horizontal bedding with an occasional dinosaur track. The bones are concentrated at the base and intermingled with rip-up clasts. Immediately below the quarry sand is a non-swelling green mudstone containing significant amounts of carbonaceous plant debris."
