Where: Madanin, Tunisia (33.4° N, 10.2° E: paleocoordinates 6.6° S, 18.1° E)
• coordinate estimated from map
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Yabeina foram zone, Upper Biohermal Complex Member (Djebel Tebaga Formation), Capitanian (264.3 - 259.5 Ma)
• Yabeina indicates Capitanian age. Bed spans transition between Middle Shaly Facies (lower 22 metres) and Upper Biohermal Complex (upper 11 metres). Subdivision E, apparently position of fossil collection, is 9 metres thick.
• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; shale and limestone
•(b) Shale, with thin beds of sandstone and scattered small bioherms.
•(c) Sandstone, ferruginous; lower part ledge forming, with prominent clay-pebble molds; upper part thin bedded and non-resistant.
•(d) Shale, grayish-green, largely covered; selenite crystals.
