Also known as Hamra Formation, Gar El-Hamra

Where: Egypt (28.5° N, 29.7° E: paleocoordinates 21.0° N, 24.8° E)

• coordinate stated in text

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: Hamra Formation, Lutetian (47.8 - 41.3 Ma)

• Consists of limestones with marl intercalations. It overlies the Qazzun Formation and unconformably underlies the Radwan Formation (Oligocene). It was assigned an upper Lutetian-Bartonian age, although there is evidently no proof for this Bartonian age.

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: yellow limestone and marl

• No environmental data reported.
• Limestones with marl intercalations.

Size classes: macrofossils, microfossils
