• At Gebel Mokattam the Maadi Formation is made up of 1) bryozoan limestones, shales, and brown siliecous limestones; 2) foliated gypsiferous shales; 3) brown limestones; 4) coquinoidal limestones; 5) siliceous limestones with molluscs; 6) SILICEOUS LIMESTONES WITH ECHINOIDS; 7) calcareous sandstones. The total thickness of this seuqnece is approximately 90 m (295 ft).
