When: Lower Sandy Shales Formation, Late/Upper Eocene (37.2 - 33.9 Ma)

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified limestone and shelly/skeletal lime mudstone

• The formation mainly consists of nonmarine or lacustrine sediments such as sandstones, clays, shales, and interbedded lignitic coal seams. There are four fossiliferous limestones within the formation. This fossil collection is of the third limestone from the bottom up.

Collection methods: The region was mapped by W.G.C. Tomalin of Shell and fossils were identified by W.P. Woodring.
