E-1 (100-200 ft), Eniwetok Atol (Pleistocene of Marshall Islands)

Where: Marshall Islands (11.4° N, 162.4° E: paleocoordinates 10.0° N, 165.5° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Late/Upper Pleistocene (0.1 - 0.0 Ma)

• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From an undifferentiated lithostratigraphic unit. AGE: Late Pleistocene, on the basis of stratigraphic position. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: A composite list from several beds within this section of drill core, from 100-200 ft.

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: reef, buildup or bioherm; poorly lithified, shelly/skeletal, yellow, calcareous limestone

• ENVIRONMENT: Carbonate facies. Shallow water, presumably reefal. No paleoenvironmental data presented.
• LITHOLOGY: Coral limestone; white friable limestone, recrystalized in places to yellow calcite, mollusks abundant. Cuttings can be aragonitic. LITHIFICATION: Poorly-lithified, on the basis of facies description and figured specimens.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: mold/impression, recrystallized
