Where: Aleutians East County, Alaska (56.1° N, 157.4° W: paleocoordinates 39.3° N, 96.5° W)

When: Staniukovich Formation, Tithonian (152.1 - 145.0 Ma)

• There are numerous good exposures of the Jurassic sequence in the Main Creek anticline, but much of the structure is complicated by faults and subsidary folds. The Staniukovich Formation is around 500 ft thick in this section and comprises siltstone and sandstone. The collection is from about midway up this unit. Portlandian in age = Tithonian

Environment/lithology: marine; brown, gray, green, yellow siltstone and brown, gray, green, yellow sandstone
