When: Hunter Wash Member (Kirtland Formation), Late/Upper Campanian (83.5 - 70.6 Ma)

• Lowermost part of the Kirtland Formation (Scott et al., 1979). Hunt and Lucas (1992) have named this the Hunter Wash Member of the Kirtland Formation, and Clemens (1973) referred to it as the Hunter Wash local fauna. It is Late Campanian in age based on Hunt and Lucas (1992) and the dating of the nearby magnetozones as roughly 73–74 mya (Fassett and Steiner, 1997).

• Freshwater rivers and deltas with other turtle species, gars, and dinosaurs common (Sullivan and Lucas, 2003).
