When: N8 foram zone, Nagura Formation (Chichibumachi Group), Burdigalian to Burdigalian (20.4 - 13.8 Ma)

• late Burdigalian-Langhian (16.4–15.1 Ma). The Nagura Formation forms the lowermost part of the Chichibumachi Group, which correlates with foraminiferal zone N8 [51, 110, 111] and thus spans the Burdigalian- Langhian boundary (16.4–15.1 Ma) [20, 54]. (Marx & Fordyce, 2015)
