Environment/lithology: offshore shelf; lithified, gray lime mudstone and lithified, black, argillaceous limestone

• During the Early Cretaceous the environment of the Sierra de los Organos was one of deeper waters.
• ca. 35 m. Grey, spotted, compact, thick- and medium-bedded micritic limestone, with intercalations of black, shaly, marly limestone.
