Where: United Kingdom (51.5° N, 3.3° W: paleocoordinates 14.6° S, 0.7° W)
• coordinate estimated from map
• small collection-level geographic resolution
When: Pseudopolygnathus multistriatus - Polygnathus mehli conodont zone, Friars Point Limestone Formation (Black Rock Limestone Group), Tournaisian (358.9 - 346.7 Ma)
• On a regional basis the lower-middle beds of the Friars Point Limestone span parts of the Zaphrentites delanouei - Caninophyllum patulum coral assemblage biozones of Ramsbottom and Mitchell (1980). These data place the Ty-nant fauna within the mid–upper part of the Tournaisian Series, probably close to the Tn2⁄Tn3 boundary of Belgian notation (i.e. close to the Hastarian-Ivorian Stage boundary; Conil et al. 1977).
• formation-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: shallow subtidal; lithified, shelly/skeletal, red dolomite
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: cast, mold/impression
Collection methods: "Associated fossils are corals (one species), bryozoans (two species) and crinoids (one species)."
