Minim Cove Mbr (lower), Tamala Limestone - Minim Cove (Pleistocene of Australia)

Where: Western Australia, Australia (32.0° S, 115.8° E: paleocoordinates 32.9° S, 115.8° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Minim Cove Member (Tamala Limestone Formation), Late/Upper Pleistocene (0.1 - 0.0 Ma)

• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: Kendrick et al. 1991 raised the Tamala Limestone to formation status to include both the Peppermint Grove Limestone and Minim Cove Mbr. STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Unknown relationships to other bounding units, as not mentioned in text. Immediately below PBDB# 63209, about 20 ft above water level. AGE: Late Pleistocene.

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; unlithified, shelly/skeletal sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow, marine gulf conditions. Presence of pelagic taxa like Spirula and Senectus suggest that the site was not completely free from contact with the open sea. Here, assigned to a siliciclastic "coastal indet." environment. SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY: Accumulated during Late Pleistocene sea-level rise.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Less-consolidated sand containing shells. LITHIFICATION: Unlithified, stated to be less-consolidated and sieved.

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: original aragonite, original calcite

Collection methods: quarrying, sieve,

• COLLECTORS: Collected by members of the Western Australia Naturalist's Club. REPOSITORY: Western Australian Museum, Perth.
