• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Contendas dolostone facies from the uper part of the Piauí Fm. THICKNESS: Mucambo Dolostone is 15 m thick. AGE: Middle Pennsyvanian (Morrowan-Desmoinesian). STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: Unknown position in unit.

• SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY AND ENVIRONMENT: Beds document a period of sea-level rise and resulting transgression, when a large carbonate and evaporite platform developed.
